To: Indian Arts And Crafts Board
We, the undersigned, demand that the 1990 Indian Arts and Crafts Act,
which was designed to protect Indian Artists and their Work, include
not only Indian made "artifacts" but also Indian Performance Art.
We believe Performance Art is the very foundation of our Lifeways,
and it seems we must have protection, as there are those who insinuate
Indian Ancestry to promote their performance art in seemingly dishonest
ways.
We call on the Indian Arts and Crafts Board to begin enforcing the
1990 Indian Arts and Crafts Act in full, which would include protecting
our Performance Art, which would include Music, Theater, Dance, and the
like.
